ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT NO.17 TO AMENDED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. R-106 - OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY (TAC NO. MA3303)
Dear Dr. Binney:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.17 to Amended Facility Operating License No. R-106 for the Oregon State University TRIGA Research Reactor.
The amendment consists of changes to the technical specifications (TSs) in response to your submittal of July 27,1998, as supplemented on September 30,1998.
The amendment clarifies TS 3.8 e. requirements on the quantity and type of radioactive i
material allowed in experiments such that experiment failure will not result in airborne radioactivity in the reactor bay or the unrestricted area exceeding the applicable dose limits in 10 CFR Part 20.
A copy of the safety evaluation supporting Amendment No.17 is also enclosed.
