SUBJECT:

ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. TR-5 The Comission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 6 t'o Facility Operating License No. TR-5..for the National Bureau of Standards nuclear facility. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated June 22, 1987.

The amendment changes the Technical Specifications to require that the new guide tube isolation valves be either operable or closed as are other isolation valves in ventilation and process piping penetrations.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation supporting Amendment No. 6 is enclosed. A notice of issuance pertaining to this action will appear in the Comission's biweekly notice publication in the FEDERAL REGISTER.
