ERI PEER REVIEW OF SOURCE TERM WORK AT SANDIA NATIONAL LABS The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the results of a peer review performed by Energy Research, Inc. (ERI). This review was of work performed at Sandia National Laboratories (SAND2007-7697, SAND2008-6664, SAND2010-1633, and SAND2011-0128) under UNR NRR-2004-001 which investigated the impact HBU and MOX fuels on severe accidents and recommended source terms for reactors with HBU and MOX fuel for equipment qualification and reactor siting dose calculations.
ERI agreed that there was ample justification for changing the source terms in NUREG-1465 and provided several recommendations.
