- Mark, By letter dated April 17, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20118C317), Research and Production Corporation (RPC Radics LLC) submitted Supplement to the RadlCS Digital Instrumentation and Control (l&C) Platform Topical Report, for US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff acceptance. The NRC staff provided a draft safety evaluation (SE) to RPC Radics LLC for comment via email dated June 3, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20127H403).
By letter dated June 9, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20171A394) Radics LLC provided clarification and correction comments and identified no proprietary information. The NRC staff response to those comments is in ADAMS Accession No. ML20166A003 The NRC staff has found that the supplemental information provided is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the submittal and in the enclosed final SE. The final SE defines the basis for our acceptance of the supplemental information. A copy of the final SE is attached to this email.
Our acceptance applies only to material provided in the supplemental information. We do not intend to repeat our review of the acceptable material described in the supplemental information. When the supplemental information appears as a reference in license applications, our review will ensure that the material presented applies to the specific plant involved. License amendment requests that deviate from the supplemental information will be subject to a plant specific review in accordance with applicable review standards.
In accordance with the guidance provided on the NRC website, we request that RPC Radics LLC publish an accepted version of the topical report with the supplemental information within three months of receipt of this email. The accepted versions shall incorporate the final SE after the title page. Once the -A has been verified by the NRC staff, licensees may then reference the supplemental information.
