Dear Mr. Zimmerman:
APPROVAL OF LOUISIANA ENERGY SERVICES dba URENCO USA USE OF A MEDICAL WIRELESS TRANSMITTING DEVICE IN CLASSIFIED AREA In the enclosed letter, Louisiana Energy Services, LLC dba URENCO USA (UUSA) provided additional information (Medical Device User Request Form) to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regarding UUSAs request for the use of a wireless medical transmitting device in a classified area.
The Department of Energy Nuclear Energy Oak Ridge Site Office, as Authorizing Official for UUSAs classified computer networks, has reviewed this information and determined that use of the device as addressed in the enclosed letter is acceptable with the following stipulations:
1.
UUSA must maintain an auditable record of the use by the individual of the medical device while in a classified area.
2.
The wireless device (glucose monitor) must be a Dexcom, G6, Serial No. 8KG4HQ.
3.
For this individual, the cell phone that is connected wirelessly via Bluetooth to this medical device must be turned off and placed inside the metal storage rack prior to his/her entry into a closed area.
