Conference call for VEGP Units 3 and 4 LAR 20-003, TS 3.3.13 for MCR VES Instrumentation Applicability Change and Include Undervoltage Actuation Good afternoon Dan, NRC Staff have a question for SNC about the revised TS 3.3.13. SNC added Condition A and modified B, including adding REQUIRED ACTION B.1, which says that when one function in a channel is inoperable to verify that the other channel is operable. However, B.2 still states, Verify alternate radiation monitors are OPERABLE. It is unclear if B.1 and B.2 are repetitive for the radiation monitors (both indicating SNC has to ensure that the radiation monitors in the operable channel remain functional) or if B.2 is indicating that some additional radiation monitors need to be relied on (such as the non-safety related MCR area monitor or portable monitors) or something else.
NRC Staff would like to have a call with SNC to make sure that they understand the revised TS.
