In Section II the reference to 49 CFR should cite the section numbers given in the latest issue of 49 CFR Parts 100 to 177.
2.
In Section III a statement should be made regarding the need to make a determination that closure seal replacement is current with the seal replacement schedule.
3.
At an appropriate point in preparing the cask for loading, an inspection of 0-ring seals, sealing surfaces, and lid-bolts should be required.
4.
Attachment #1, referred to in Step 16, should be included with the operating procedures.
5.
An operation should be added after Step 16 requiring the application of a tamperproof feature as required by 10 CFR 971.43(b).
6.
Step 17 should refer to the requirements of 10 CFR 971.47.
7.
Step 18 should refer to the requirements of 10 CFR 671.87.
Unloading Procedure 1.
Section 1 should also cite the requirements of 10 CFR 671.89 Opening Instructions.
2.
Procedures to prepare to unloaded cask for shipment must consider the requirements of 49 CFR 173.427, "Empty Radioactive Materials Packaging."
15.0 AP-100 Maintenance Tests 1.
The maintenance program should include periodic testing, inr 9 tion and replacement schedules, as well as criteria for replacement a, repair of components such as closure bolts, tapped holes for closure bo..;, 0-ring seals, and sealing surfaces.
2.
The seal replacement schedule should be revised to agree with the requirements of Condition No. 8 of the certificate of compliance.

2 Acceptance Tests If additional packagings are to be fabricated the application should contain a section on acceptance testing. The section should discuss the tests and inspections that will be performed prior to first use of the packaging (10 CFR 671.85). The.section should state the acceptance cri.teria for each test and inspection and the action to be taken if noncompliance is encountered.
