i This Request for Amendment is in accordance with the telecon between Messrs. James Peterson (SC-DHEC) and Robert Williams (Westinghouse) on October 29,1998. Westinghouse requests authorization to store a depleted uranium flywheel at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF). The flywheel weighs 5,085 pounds (sans shaft). It is constructed of metallic depleted uranium, covered entirely with a seal-welded Inconel 600 enclosure. The flywheel will be stored and protected in accordance with existing license requirements and plant procedures.
