l CHAMMAN The Honorable Amy L. Bondurant U.S. Ambassador to the OECD U.S. OECD Mission 19 Rue de Frangaueville 75061 Paris France
Dear Ambassador Bondurant:
I want to express my appreciation for all the time and effort that went into the USOECD Mission planning and support for my September 30 - October 2,1998, visit to Paris to attend the 40" Anniversary of the OECD/ Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), and to make a presentation at the regular session of the Steering Committee. Please convey my best regards to all those staff members who contributed to this successful visit. I wish to express particular appreciation to Mr. Gary Larsen for his guidance and support. His assistance helped me to accomplish my objectives.
I am grateful for the opportunity to discuss with you the OECD budget reduction efforts; the role of the OECD in the ongoing debate on sustainable energy development; and the direct relevance of the NEA program of work for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. nuclear energy sector as a whole.
I appreciated the opportunity to hear the presentations and to share the insights offered at this 40* Anniversary celebration. My own experience with the NEA over the past three years has been both positive and relevant to U.S. national interests.
Sincerely, b
f Shirley Ann Jackson I)ffk l.
