13 Bulletin 85-03: Motor-Operated Valve Common Mode Failures During Plant Transients Due to Improper Switch Settings In accordance with Item (e) of the subject bulletin, a report is to be submitted to the NRC by May 15, 1986. This letter provides you with a brief status of our effort to develop the information for the report

and to inform you that a complete report will be submitted no later than July 15, 1986.
Portland Ceneral Electric has participated in the Westinghouse Owners l
Group (WOG) Program for determining the methodology to assure that the I
maximum differential pressure is identified for each motor-operated I
valve subject to the requirements of the bulletin. The completed WOG Program was received by PGE on April 17, 1986.
This information is currently being used by our architect-engineer (Bechtel) to develop the information required by Item (a) of the bulletin. This work by Bechtel is scheduled for completion by May 15, 1986.

A description of this program and a schedule for completion of all items by no later than November 15, 1987, will be provided in the report to be submitted by July 15, 1986.
