Dear Sir:

This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 Operating License NPF-ll, Appendix A, and laSalle Unit 2 Operating License NPF-18, Appendix A, Technical Specifications 3.7.5.2 and 3.7.5.4.

On April 1,1986, at 1800 hours0.0208 days
0.5 hours
0.00298 weeks
6.849e-4 months
the Unit 1 Cable Spreading Room sprinkler system and hose stations FB250, FB155, FB2h8, FB191 and FB157 vere removed from service to permit construction activities required for the completion of design Modification M-1-1-85-047 This Modification is required by Unit 2 (NPF-18) License Condition 2.C.(15)(e).

It is expected that construction activities vill continue for one month.

In any case, the Unit 1 Cable Spreading Room Sprinkler System will be returned to service prior to restarting Unit 1 from the first refueling outage. The fire hose stations were returned to service on April 25, 1986.

To assure that the level of fire protection is not decreased during the course of this Modification, LaSalle vill meet the requirements of Action Statements "a" of Technical Specifications 3.7 5 2 and 3.7.5.4 by establishing a fire watch with backup fire suppression equipment in the affected area or routing additional fire hose of equal or greater diameter to the unpretected areas from operable hose stations as appropriate.
