50-328 SEQUO1 AH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) - ESSENTIAL RAW COOLING WATER (ERCW)

PUMPHOUSE FOUNDATION AND ERCH PUMPING STATION ACCESS CELLS This is in response to Inspection Report 50-327, 328/88-12, unresolved items 88-12-05 and 88-12-09. An evaluation has been performed by Bechtel North American Power Company on the ERCW pumphouse foundation and pumping station access roadway foundation.

This evaluation report is enclosed.

1 It was concluded that the ERCH pumping station and access roadway cells are structurally adequate and will function as intended under the design loads. However, a limited exploration program for the pumphouse foundation is recommended to augment the available data used in i

evaluating the foundation.

TVA requests a meeting with NRC on either j

November 7 or November 14, 1988, to answer questions and get NRC approval j

for the proposed exploration program.
