Enclosed is an application for a license (XSNM03060), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export to Canada of high-enriched uranium in the form of UO 2
targets. The materialis to be used for production of medicalisotopes in the Maple 1 and Maple 2 Reactors.
Please note that Attachment B contains company confidential information and will not be placed in NRC's Public Document Room. We request that the information be handled accordingly in the Executive Branch agencies.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, including the Schumer Amendment of 1992.
