ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING ITEM 2.2.2 OF GENERIC LETTER 83-28 1.

NRC Reauest Please - provide a description of the additional vendor interface programs that you dett mined would be appropriate and practicable.

BGAE Response We have identified and contacted nine vendors that we determined would be desirable to establish an interface program with. A list of these vendors and the equipment they supply us is provided below. We are experiencing difficulties obtaining timely vendor response and support, and have thus far received initial responses from only six vendors. We are proceeding with defining individual programs for some vendors and we are continuing to follow-up our communication *.

with the others. The interface programs will be individually tailored to the equipment and the vendor.

Vendor Eauioment

  • ARMCO Charging Pumps
  • BINGIIAM INTERNATIONAL llPSI Pumps
  • DRESSER RAND Auxiliary Feed Pump Turbines EXIDE Vital AC System (Inverters)

FAIRBANKS - MORSE Emergency Diesel Generators Drip-Proof Synchronous Alternator

= Response Received 2.

NRC Reauest Please provide a commitment to estblishing and maintaining these additional vendor interface programs by a certain date.

BG&E Response Due to the aforementioned difficulties in getting timely responses from

vendors, these interface programs are still in the early stages of development. These vendors are not under our control and have little incentive to proceed aggressively in establishing these programs. We have set a

target date for ourselves to have these programs established by December 31, 1988. We cannot consider this a commitment, though, because of this vendor dependence.
