Dear Mr. Denton:

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.71(e), Commonwealth Edison hereby submits Revision 2 to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for our LaSalle County Station. Units 1 and 2 have a common FSAR and, therefore, this revision contains information for both units.

The UFSAR has been prepared in accordance with guidance approved by the May 9, 1980, Federal Register Notice and Reference (a).

Consistent with that guidance, this UFSAR revision has been retained in the original FSAR's fomat or content to confom with the recommendations contained in Regulatory Guide 1.70.

Commonwealth Edison has made every effort to identify all relevant information for this revision including modifications to the facility as described in the UFSAR that have been made since the last submittal (Reference (b)).

In our judgment, the UFSAR accurately reflects the as-built condition of the plant as of October 17, 1985. All changes requiring NRC approval have been reviewed by the NRC and all others have 50.59 reviews on site to document the stations's determination that prior approval was not required.

In accordance with Reference (c), the UFEAR will be used to h

perform future 10 CFR 50.59 reviews.

To the best of my knowledge and belief the statemento contained in the UFSAR are true and correct.

In some respects these statements are not based on my personal knowledge but upon information furnished by other Commonwealth Edison employees.

Such information has been reviewed in accordance with Company practice and I believe it to be reliable.

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.71(e), one signeo original and twelve (12) additional copies of the UFSAR revisions are provided. Also attached is an "Index of Changos" which explains which pages of the UFSAR must be removed and which revised pages must be inserted.
