Public Law 97-415, enacted on January 4, 1983, amended Section 189 of the l
l Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to authorize the Nuclear Regulatory Comission to issue and make imediately effective any amendment to an operating license upon a determination by the Comission that such amendment involves I
no significant hazards consideration, notwithstanding the pendency before the Commission of a request for a hearing, 4
l In addition, the legislation requires the Commission to periodically (but i
l not less frequently than once every thirty days) publish notice of any L
amendments issued, or proposed to be issued, under the new authority above.
