This letter provides supplementary information, requested as a result of yoiar review of our letter of February 28, 1986 and its enclosures.
Enclosed are two insert pages to Enclosure 3D of our application, that contain calculations of stresses in the welds that secure the isolation valve support plates to the liner cover plate. The welds are of 1/16 inch thickness on all four sides of the support plate, as marked on the enclosed drawing. The stresses in these welds are shown to be lower than stresses elsewhere in the valve support structure.
A formal revision to the drawing will be submitted within a few days.
