Dear Mr. MacDonald:
In reference to docket number 71-9220 assigned to our request (Sept. 87) for Type B approval of the model 884 package, we do not plan to pursue Type B certification for the package.
The model 884 was a one-time package constructed for Lawrence Livemore National Labs,and they have decided at this time that they do not need Type B transportation status.
We are submitting a copy of our initial safety analysis report to them and they may at a later date decide to pursue Type B certification on their own for the model 884.
