Revised Analysis for EA-50 and EA-142 Series A High Integrity Containers
Dear Joe:
1 Enclosed is the revised analysis for the EA-50 and the EA-142 Series A High Integrity Containers (HIC).
These analyses reflect the 55 foot burial depth and the revised allowable stress cri-teria that basica11y'has been agreed on with the NRC.
These i
containers, along with the EA-210 Series C which was submitted earlier, are the only containers that are anticipated for second quarter use per Dave Snedeker's letter of March 10,1986, that were not built and delivered prior to January 1,1986.
Nuclear Packaging is revising the designs and analysis for the entire Enviralloy family to this new criteria.
They will be submitted to you in the near future.
t
.Please note that the EA-50 analysis is essentially the same as that which was previously submitted.
The major changes are in the criteria evaluated and in a more accurate modeling in the lid area which caused a slight change in the predicted stresses.
