Dear Mr. Murley:
The above referenced letter transmitted a Generic Safety Evaluation Report on a methodology developed by the Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG) for performing seismic verification of equipment.
HRC and SQUG are projected to reach a final agreement on the open issues of the methodology by the middle of 1989. Therefore contingent upon j
the final agreement being reached by the middle of 1989, Zion will complete the scheduled plant walkdowns in 1990 through 1991 for Unit 2 and in 1991 1
through 1992 for Unit 1 and common equipment.
