By letter dated August 27,1998, the NRC provided a Request for Additional Information.
(RAI) regarding the responses to Generic Letter 97-01 for Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP) Units 1 and 2. This RAI contains questions regarding reactor vessel head penetration (VHP) issues and identifies a target date for SNC response of November 25,1998. At a meeting between
. the NRC staff and the EPRI Materials Reliability Project (MRP) on September 29,1998, a coordinated industry response to the RAI was discussed. The MRP intends to provide a general response for all PWRs by the middle of December 1998. SNC intends to participate in the response coordinated by the MRP. Therefore, additional time will be needed to respond to this RAL This letter revises the target date for the SNC Farley response to
. January 15,1999.
