As a concerned scientist, experienced in environmental matters, I have been dismayed by the ss(ccess of the organized campaign against nuclear power, especially the Seabrook Reactor.
Certainly the discovery of how to induce nuclear fission, with use the release of enormous amounts of energy, should have some other than the production of weapons C c.; of mass destruction.
In my opinion the arguments against the licensing and cperation of Seabrook are largely pretexts. The real reason is a largely uninformed a nd irresponsible opposition to any peaceful use of nuclear energy.
I do not believe the operation of Seabrook at 5% capacity will
(
constitute a health or safety hazard of any consequence. There would therefore be no need for sirens in surrounding areas during this period.
I hope you will see fit to so rule.
Sincerely 0.
