Enclosed is a copy of the final exercise report for the May 20, 1998, post plume phase exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the
~ Hatch Nuclear Power Plant.
This report addresses the evaluation of the plans and preparedness for the State of 1
Georgia and the counties within the 50-mile Ingestion 4
Emergency Planning Zone.
The State of Georgia, Appling County and Wayne County participated in the exercise.
The final exercise report was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region IV staff.
Copies of this report will be forwarded to the State of Georgia, FEMA Headquarters, and NRC Headquarters by my staff.
There were no Deficiencies or Areas Requiring Corrective Actions identified during the exercise.
Based on the results of the May 20, 1r98, exercise, the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Georgia and the affected local jurisdictions l
site-specific to the Hatch Nuclear Power Plant can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological
