PADUCAH INSPECTION REPORT 70-7001/98-205

Dear Mr. Miller:

This refers to the Chemical Process Safety inspection by members of the Headquarters staff and a contractor which was conducted on September 15 - 18,1998, at your Paducah, Kentucky facility. The purpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by your certificate were conducted safely and in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those

. members of your staffidentified in the enclosed report.

~ Areas examined are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a review of safety significant chemical systems and how a seismic initiating event would impact the safe storage and handling of chemicals onsite.
