The Chairman of the House Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce has requested the Commission's views on H.R. 5809, a bill
.f which would authorize states to enter into compacts for the purpose of establishing regional disposal sites for low-level radioactive w:. ate (LLW), establish a framework for the Commission's promulga-tion of rules regarding ownership of LLW, and amend the Atomic l
Energy Act to define LLW.
I would appreciate comments especially from ELD, State Programs and NMSS - by December 14, 1979.
