Dear Mr. Schum:

This is in response to your letter dated December 13, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), copies of (1)-

the NRC Inspection and Enforcement (IE) Manual, Vol. XI, Interpretations Section, and (2) Current NRC Policy, Guidance, or Interpretation regarding the completion of licensee reports required by 10 CFR 50.55(e).

As explained to Mr. Charles Daley of your staff during a January 6,1986, telephone conversation with Mr. Stephen Isaacs of my staff, IE Manual Volume XI does not exist. Volume IX in its entirety is available from the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) located at 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20555. We are enclosing a notice which explains procedures and charges for obtaining records from the PDR.

In response to item 2, copies of the documents listed on the enclosed appendix are being placed in the NRC PDR in folder F01A-85-836 under your name.
