INSPECTION NO. 70-7001/98-206

Dear Mr. Miller:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a routine inspection of your Paducah, Kentudy uranium enrichment facility's material control and accounting (MC&A) safeguards program on September 28 - October 2,1998. The inspection focused on the implemention of your Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan commitments. The scope, details and results of the inspection are contained in the enclosure.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with members of your staff.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations were identified.

As requested by the United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) and granted by the NRC, reports containing information related to USEC's MC&A program are exempt from public disclosure. Accordingly, the enclosure will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
