SEP 2 01988 MEMORANDUM FOR: Vandy L. Miller, Chief Medical, Academic and Consnercial Use Safety Branch, IMNS FROM:

William E. Cline Chief Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards Branch

SUBJECT:

RENEWAL PACKAGES It has been brought to my attention, as a result of several complaints from licensees, that renewal packages currently being sent to them 90 days before the expiration dates of their licenses do not always contain the proper 10 CFR Parts that would be applicable in renewing their particular license.

For example, in a recent response to a Notice of Violation from one of our medical institutions,. they complained of not receiving a Part 35.

It would be appreciated if you could check with the responsible person on your staff to be sure these packages are complete to avoid any delay in the receipt of renewal applications from our licensees.
