Compliance 9183, Revision No. 3, to incorporate drawings NAC-347-586 F2 and J

%C-341-586 F3 of the ISO container configuration into the Certificate of

.ompliance in a fashion similar to the NL1-1 The materials of construction and weldments of the cas/2 cask certificate.

k support attachments in ISO containers are shown in drawings NAC-347-586-F2 and NAC-347-586-F3 which are enclosed. The ISO containers for the NAC-1 casks were made by two different companies: Adamson of England and Evermaster of Taiwan, so two drawings are required.

Nuclear Assurance Corporation has reviewed the cask support httachments for the NAC-1 cask as part of our evaluation of the NL1-1/2 cask, Certificate of Compliance 9010 as shipped in an International Shipping Organization (IS0) container. The NAC-1 cask supports are alumino:n, unlike the NLI-1 and are attached by welding to an aluminum mounting alate.

The alumin /2, um mounting plate is welded to the aluminum floor deck of tie ISO l

l container.

(ISO ccntainers are steel structures and aluminum floors arc l

standard.)iner To insur that the attachment of the NAC-1 cask supports to the ISO conta is stronger than the NAC-1 cask supports themselves, bolts are inserted through the aluminum support plate, the aluminum floor deck, i

and the ISO container steel floor beams.

Analyses of the bol tir,q arrangement and the weldment of the aluminum support plate to the alumint.m floor deck are enclosed.

The analyses include an evaluation of the NAC-1 supports under a 29 load (longitudinal, lateral, ar.d vertical) which was performed prior to placing the NAC-1 in service in the ISO container.

The ISO containers are load tested, as shown in the attached certificates.

These analyses and load tests show the capability!of the overall system to l

handle 2g loads.

The drawings show the center of gravity of the two ISO containers with the loaded NAC-1 on the Fontaine drop-frame trailer. The center of gravity of the NAC-1 in either container is lower than the NLI-1/2 center of gravity, as shown below:
