The Commission
- was briefed by the staff on proposed options for implementing the severe accident policy for future light water reactors.
Commissioner Rogers requested the staff to clearly identify how it intends to measure higher standards and acceptance of improved safety in evolutionary light water reactor designs.
Commissioner Rogers also requested the staff to review SECY-88-248 and clarify its intention of enhancing safety without redefining the required level of adequate protection.
