Dear Lt. Hovda:

i l This confirms our telephone conversation of September 8 1988 concerning the l' use of your facility for temporary storage of a classified document. This letter requests your formal approval for use of that facility.

A study on radiolcgical sabotage considerations in non-power reactors was completed for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The report "Honpower '

Reactor Sabotage Study," LA-CP-87-02, January 1987, is classified Confidential National Security Information. We need to have this report reviewed by 4 personnel from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Personnel  ;

security clearances are being processed for these personnel. However, since ,

i they do not hcVe a cleared facility, we request your approval to transfer the i classified document to your facility where it can be stored and reviewed by '

MIT personnel. We anticipate that you would retain the document for a period l of a few weeks in fall 1988. Once the personnel security clearances are j approved, we will submit the appropriate visit and access authorization i request in advance of the visits. '
