In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p), Georgia Power Company (GPC) submits in the enclosure a report of changes being made to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 1
and 2 Physical Security and Contingency Plan.
Georgia Power Company has not yet implemented the change discussed in the enclosure pending notification of the NRC.
The change was verbally discussed with NRC Region II staff security personnel during an inspection conducted on-site during the week of April 25, 1988.
It is our intention to implement the change on or about August 1,1988.
Should the NRC have any concerns regarding the intended change which is required to support Unit 2 startup testing, GPC requests that it be notified expeditiously of any concerns so they may be promptly resolved.
The information contained in the enclosure is safeguards information and, in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 and 10 CFR 2.790, should not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
In addition to the signed original, three copies of this submittal are provided for your use.
Two copies of this submittal are being provided to the NRC Region II office.
Revised security plan pages incorporating the changes will be provided in an upcoming amendment.
