    • '* September 1,1988 AE0D/S805 MEMORANDUM FOR: Victor Stello, Jr.

Executive Director for Operations FROM: Edward L. Jordan, Director Office for Analysis and Evaluation of Operational Data

SUBJECT:

AEOD ANNUAL REPORT This office has completed the 1987 AE00 Annual Report with substantial changes from previous issues. The changes were made to reflect a change in emphasis, to provide for a more efficient separation of activities, and to reflect the overall office activities related to power reactors. For these reasons, the 1987 AE00 Annual Report will be published in two parts. Part 1 covers Power Reactors, and presents an overview of the operating experience of the nuclear power industry, with comments regarding the trends of some key performance measures. Part 2 of the report presents a similar overview and assessment for Nonreactors.

f The report also includes the principal findings and issues identified in AE0D studies over the past year, and summarizes information from Licensee Event Reports, the NRC's Operations Center, and Diagnostic Evaluations. Also included are a status and summary of AE00 recommendations. In addition, some background information is provided on the AE00 organizational structure.

We are available to provide any additional information or clarification.
