Inservice Inspection Program, Revision 9, Amendment No. 1 By letter dated February 12, 1988 [ Reference d)], Vermont Yankee providad an initial response to the staff's December 9, 1987 [ Reference c)) request for additional Inservice Inspection (ISI) program information.
In accordance with Vermont Yankee's commitment to submit a revised ISI program, Attachment A to this letter provides Amendment No. I to the Vermont Yankee ISI Program, Revisior.
9.
Specifically, Amendment No. 1 provides the following additions and modifi-cations.
1.
Section XI Exemption Criteria IWC-1220 is no longer invoked for Safete Class 2 inspections and therefore is deleted.
2.
ASME Code Case N-408 and its (N-408) exemption criteria are used to re-define Safety Class 2 weld inspection selections and examinations.
This code case requires an inspection program requiring volumetric examination of 7.5% of all applicable Safety Class 2 system welds and are provided in new Code Category C-F-2.
3.
The Scram Discharge Volume Piping wolds are provided in Safety Class 2, Section C-F-2 of the ISI program as requested in Reference c).
These welds were previously listed in Section C-G.
4.
The 89.32 item number for Safety Class 2 Main Steam Branch Connection welds are corrected and now appear as item number 89.31 on pages I-69 and I-70.
Additional B9.31 welds are also scheduled for inspection.
5.
Additional and revis?d isometric drawings are provided reflecting the addi-tion of Class 2 components.

Inspection summary tables for Class 1 and Class.2 components are provided.
It should be realized that the entire rocirculation piping' system was replaced in 1985, resulting in a substantial reduction in the number of system welds.

Relief Requests B-2 and B-6 were removed as stated in Reference d).
8.
Relief.Raquests H-7 and H-11 are deleted as directed by Reference c). provides the-current status of ISI relief requests.
In addi-
. tion,.Reslief Requests H-9 and H-13 are resubmitted with additional sup-porting information.
9.
Additional hanger inspections are identified and scheduled for Code Category F-A, F-B, and F-C.
_These additions were necessary as a result of adding certain Safety Class 2 systems in Code Category C-F-2.
