To Discuss CE's Spent Fuel Dry Storage Cask Topical Report (TR)
DISCUSSION:
CE is concerned that review of their TR has not begun.
CE is involved in meeting a test program schedule for spent fuel casks in Japan (see enclosure 2).
I explained that license-related activities take precedence 'over topical 4
report reviews. Previously, other cask vendors such as Westinghouse, Nuclear Assurance Corporation, and Transnuclear have had to wait for the stme reasons.
I also explained that, as individual reviewers had time available, <

they would be free to begin their work in their areas of specialization on the CE TR. I also committed to check again, although I had done so within the last two weeks, to see if any individual has started to review the CE TR. On their part, CE staff indicated they were willing to meet with or otherwise i
respond to any questions that the staff might have during its review.
