DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 HELB DETECTION AND MITIGATION SDAR:

CP-88-20 (SUPPL EMENTAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On January 28, 1988, TV Electric notified you via final report logged Txx-88157 of a deficiency involving instrumentation utilized in the detection and mitigation for certain High Energy Line Breaks (HELB) located outside containment.

The last report was logged TXX-88497, dated June 13, 1988.

Corrective actions included providing a redundant HELB pressure switch and alarm circuit, and reconnecting one of two Auxiliary Steam System HELB pressure snitch trains to a dif ferent AC source.

Engineering and Constru;; tion activities for these actions have been rescheduled for completion by February 1, 1989.
