The Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology has asked for the Commission's views on H.R. 1852, a bill to
. provide for the research, development, and demonstration of a permanent Federal repository capable of receiving nuclear waste ~and spent nuclear fuel assemblies generated from the
. operation of civilian nuclear power plants, and for other purposes including State participation in the planning, design, siting, and licensing of such a repository and the creation of a nuclear waste management advisory committee.
