Kerr-McGee Corporation Cushing Facility

Dear Mr. Brown:

Over the past several years, Kerr-McGee Corporation (KMC) has surveyed portions of the Cushing refinery site to demonstrate that those areas are releasable for unrestricted use. NRC has accepted the results of KMC's surveys and has indicated that these areas can be released from license SNM-1999.

In the process of evaluating a potential license amendment releasing the subject areas, NRC requested a map showing the areas that would remain under license after such en action. KMC ercloses herein a map showing the portions of the site that would remain under license. The licensed site _will primarily consist of those areas currently classified as radioactive materials areas and undesignated areas. Two small sections of the haul road corridor area that wi!! be enclosed in the radioactive materials storage area (RMSA) will also be part of the licensed site.

Also enclosed with this mailing are two copies of aerial photographs of the Cushing site that were taken May 15, 1998. They have no direct association with the map submitted, but are iust updated photos for your use or files as you may elect.
