Byron Station Units 1 and 2 Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License NPF-37, Appendix A.

Technical Specifications NRC Docket Nos. 50-454 and 50-455

Dear Mr. Denton:

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, Conunonwealth gdison proposes to amend Appendix A, Technical Specifications, to Facility Operating License NPF-37.

The proposed change, which provides more flexibility for demonstrating operability of the residual heat removal pumps, is contained in Attachment A. The reasons for the proposed change are described in Attachment B.

The proposed change has received both On-site and Off-site review and approval. We have reviewed this proposed amendment in accordance with 10 CFR 50.92(c) and determined that no significant hazards consideration exista. Our review is documented in Attachment C.

If this proposed change is found acceptable for the Byron Technical J' Specifications, we request that it be included into the current draft of the Braidwood Technical Specifications.

Commonwealth gdison is notifying the State of Illinois of our application for this amendment by transmitting a copy of this letter and its f attachments to the designated State Official.
