20555 Log GN-1490 NRC DOCKET NUMBER 50-425 CONSTRUCTION PERMIT NUMBER CPPR-109 VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT - UNIT 2 CONFIRMATORY ITEM 36: TDI DIESEL GENERATORS Section 9.5.4.1.6 of supplement 5 to the Vogtle Safety Evaluation Report concluded that confirmatory Item 36 regarding the incorpora-tion of generic and plant specific recommendations for TDI diesel generators was fully resolved for Vogtle Unit 1.
However the program to verify and enhance the reliability of the Vogtle Unit 2 diesel generatora by implementing the maintenance / surveillance program recommended by the TDI Diesel Generator Owners Group was not complete.
The maintenance / surveillance program has also been implemented on Unit 2 as stated on page 8.3.1-22 of the Vogtle FSAR.
All Phase I & II inspectior.s have been performed on Unit 2 with the exception of the items listed below.
J The remaining Phase I & II inspections are scheduled for completion i
by November 21, 1988.
These inspections are consistent with all inspection requirements for Unit 1.

Report on connecting rod bolt eddy current test.

Eddy current on fuel injection lines.
3)
Report on torsiograph test.
4)
Turbocharger bearing inspection.
b)
Turbocharger nozzle ring inspection.
6)
Perform engine vibration survey.
Train B 1)
Eddy current test on connecting rod bolt.
2)
Eddy current on fuel injection lines.
3)
Report on torsiograph test.
4)
Turbocharger bearing inspection.
5)
Turbocharger nozzle ring inspection.
