REPLY TO NRC SAFETY EVALUATION (SE) REGARDING BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION, UNIT NO. 2 (BVPS-2), SECOND 10-YEAR INSERVICE TESTING (IST) PROGRAM RELIEF REQUESTS (TAC NO. MA3711) l

Dear Mr. Cross:

This letter acknowledges Duquesne Light Company's (DLC's) letter dated September 30,1998, l which responded to our November 18,1997, SE regarding relief requests for the second 10-year  ;

IST program for BVPS-2 (TAC No. M98909). Our November 18,1997, SE identified two '

anomalies (apparent omission of certain pressure relief devices) in the IST program and noted that valve relief request No.1 was not required because the method of testing is consistent with  ;

OM-10. DLC was requested to respond to the identified anomalies within 1 year. DLC's i September 30,1998, letter provided a timely response to our SE and provided descriptions of the l actions taken in response to the comments provided in our SE. This concludes our actions concoming the hcensing review of relief requests associated with TAC Nos. M98909 and MA3711; however, please be advised that the NRC staff may inspect the implementation of the BVPS-2 IST program during a future inspechon.'  :
