PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 2 AND 3, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS REVISION RELATING TO THE SURVEILLANCE OF THE SAFETY RELIEF VALVES (TAC NOS. MA1741 AND MA1742)
Dear Mr. Edwards:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendments Nos. 224 and 228 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56 for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3. These amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to PECO Energy Company's (the licensee) application dated May 1,1998, as supplemented by letter dated September 11,1998. In that letter the licensee also requested a relief from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Operation and Maintenance (OM) Code inservice testing (IST) requirements related to testing of the plant Automatic Depressurization System (ADS) SRVs. That relief request will be addressed as a separate action.
These amendments revise the TSs to delete the requirements for functional testing of SRVs during each unit startup.
A copy of the safety evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's Biweekly F ederal Realster Notice.
