Dear Mr. Miller:
This refers to the August 24,1998, letter from Mr. Joe W. Parks of the Department of Energy, Oak Ridge Operations (DOE-OR) to Mr. Joseph F. Nemec of Bechtel Jacobs Company regarding the reporting to Nuclear Materials Management and Safeguards System (NMMSS) of uranium with enrichments equal to or greater than 20 weight percent in the 23sU isotope in installed but shutdown equipment at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Please be advised that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) concurs with the directions contained in DOE's letter as it applies to the subject material.
