JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 NARRATIVE StkHARY OF OPHtATIONS August, 1988 h re were no unit shutdowns or significant power reductions during the month of August.

- N following major safety-related maintenance was perfonned in the month of August:

1.

h low pressure pumping element was replaced in the 2D service water air compressor.

2.

h trim was replaced in charging flow control valve FUV-122.

3.

A design change was perfonned to correct a flow problem in radiation monitors R-11 and R-12.

4.

A burned coil was replaced in the 2B air ccepressor breaker closing coil.

5.

h 2B charging punp room cooler was cleaned and its carbon steel atuds were replaced with stainless steel studs.

o 6.

Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was perforwed on l

the diesel generators.
