SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-285/98-18
Dear Mr. Gambhir:
From August 31 through September 2,1998, a reactive inspection was conducted at your Fort
'
Calhoun Station reactor facility. The focus of the inspection was to review changes made to
.
your emergency plan involving emergency action levels. Followup telephone discussions with
your staff were held on September 9,30, and October 8, regarding the inspection findings. The
enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
One unresolved item was identified concerning changes made to your emergency action levels.
This item is discussed in Section P3 of the enclosed inspection report.

in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
