SUBJECT:
MINUTES OF CRGR MEETING NUMBER 132 The Committee to Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) met on VednEsday, March 23,1988, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
A list of attednes for this meeting is attached (Enclosure 1).
The following items were addressed at the i
meeting:
1.
W. Morris (RES) and W. Lahs (RES) presented for CRGR review a proposed revit, ion to 10 CFR 71, Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Material, that is intended to incorporate recent IAEA recommendations.
The Committee recomended in favor of forwarding the proposed rule to the Commission, subject to changes (to be coordinated with the CRGR staff) to clarify the language and purpose of the rule.
This matter is discussed in Enclosure 2.

W. Houston (RES) and M. Jamgochian (RES) presented for CRGR the final 1
i rulemaking on ems.rgency preparedness for fuel cycle and other radioactive material licensees in response to your request.
The Comittee recomended in favor of forwarding the final rule to the Commission, subject to revision (to be coordinated with CRGR staff) to clarify the rule's intent.
This matter is discussed in C.rclosure 3.
3.
D. Crutchfield (NRR) briefed tho Committee on the status of the B&W Osners Group plant reassessment program.
Bastd on this briefing, it was concluded that no Committee action was required.
This matter is discusced in Enclosure 4.
In accordance with the ED0's July 18,1983 directiva concerning "Feedback and Closure on CRGR Reviews," a written response is required from the cognizant office to report agreement or disagreement with CRGR recommendations in these minutes.
The response, which is required within five working days after receipt of these meeting minutes, is to be forwarded to the CRGR Chairman and if there is disagreement with the CRGR recommendations, to the E00 for decisionmaking.
