The purpose of this modification is to fonnally recognize and establish the transfer of Government Furnished Property which is currently in possession of the Contractor to the Contractor and to approve the Contractor's request dated December 11, 1987 to allow said GFP to be used at the college of William and Mary.

Section H
.S_pecial Contract Requirements is modified to incorporate the following new subsection:
"Section H.10 - Gpvernment-Furnished Property In accordance with FAR Clause 52.245-5, the Contractor is authorized to utilize the truck mounted power auger, originally acquired under Contract No. NRC-04-75-247 and hereby transferred to this Contract No.
NRC-04-85-106.
The auger consists of the following components:
Truck mounted power auger w/4x4, vehicle drill rig plant, hydraulic stabilizing jacks, PTO and auger drilling tools.
License NRC-120, Truck S/N W41-CTASs20832 (1980 Dodge Model W-40) Model 45 Central Mine Equipment Co. Auger S/N 142104."

Approval is hereby granted by the NRC to authorize the Contractor to allow the Government Furnished Prnperty--trunk mounted power auger, as described in Paragraph 2. above, hereafter referred to as GPF-auger--to be used by the College of William and Mary (W&M) in Williamsburg, Virginia.
This approval is grar.ted in response to the Contractor's letter dated December 11, 1987 which referenced and provided an attached copy of the Principal Investigator's memorandum dated December 2, 1987.
Specifically, this approval is granted provided that the following conditiens, as a minimum, are agreed to in writing between the Contractor and W&M:
a.
While the GFP-auger is in the care, custody and control of W&M, W&M will provide full insurance for replacement and repair.
b.
W&M will be responsible for normal maintenance on the GFP-auger.
c.
W&M will replace lost or used up drill stem and augers on the GFP-auger, d.
W&M will return the GFP-auger in the condition in which it was received by VPI, excepting normal wear and tear, j

The Contractor shall provide a copy of its sgreement with W&M to the NRC.

As the period of performance for this contract is effective through December 30, 1988, the Contractor shall prepare for disposition of Government property in accordance with Clause 52.245-5(i) prior to expiration of contract.
5.
The final report, as required under Section F.1.4--Final Report / Microfiche Copies, of the contract, shall incorporate the findings of data obtained by W&M regarding the recency and 'iocation of 4
fault, in Cretaceous to Holocene strata of eastern Virginia.
G.
This action shall not, in any way, have an impact on the estimated cost of this contrcet.
All other terms and conditions of the contract, including the contract ceiling amount of $766,075.00, remain the same, c
