CABLING AND t0VIPMENT REARRANGEMENTS Section C.
Description / Specifications / Work Statement C.1 Background The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is relocating about half of the Headquarters staf f in a new eighteen (18) story building located at 11555 Rockville pike, Rockville, Maryland.
Rearrangement of equipment and wiring will be required due to reconfiguration of offices in Rockville and buildings in the Bethesda area that are being backfilled during this consolidation.
Scope of Work The contractor must perform relocations, terminations, cross-connects, labeling, and rearrangements of telephone equipment and wiring in accordance with this 50W and in compliance with design configurations set by the NRC.
The contractor is responsible for the rewiring and placement of equipment that require relocation or rearrangements fror; the original configuration.
4 Cable work to be performed in support of NRC requirements shall include wiring in wire closets, on terminal blocks, connectors, wire support rings, wiring in demountable walls, systems furniture, cable trays, etc.
Equipment work to be performed includes reinstallation, and testing of standard and electronic telephone instruments (both single and multiline sets), Line Status Indicators and various support devices. Work also includes relabeling both cables and i
equiprent as required.
The contractor shall provide all tools and test equipment necessary to reconnect and test all telephone lines and equipment, i
All work shall conform to accepted industry installation and practices.
I NRC will furnish as much information as possible to assist the contractor in l
the performance of this 50W, As a minimum, the NRC will furnish the contractor with the locations and type of reconfiguration required; the contact where the work is to be accomplished; exact services and facilities required; and the priority that the work is to be accomplished, q
