Dear Sir:
We are examining several options which will permit us to discontinue discharge of l
liquid wastes containing small quantities of enriched uranium to the sewage treat-ment plant. Our focus is on evaporation, or ultra filtration of the liquids. Ultimate disposal of the filtered water under the second option has not been determined.
l in conjunction with this evaluation, we are also developing possible engineered systems for poisoning the two 1000 gallon receiving ti.1ks. Currently, glass raschig rings are used for this purpose.
We will keep you informed of our progress in this area.
