Special Inspection No. 88-73 On March 21, 1988, Mr. John Miller and Ms. Christina Schulingkamp of this office conducted a safety inspection at the above address of activities permitted by the general license as authorized by 10 CFR 31.5.
Inspection was limited to a review of your possession and use of static eliminators manufactured by the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (3M) and to perform an independent survey to validate the effectiveness of your surveys and decontamination efforts.
The findings of the inspection were discussed with Mr. Alan Abber, of your staff, at the conclusion of the inspection.
Selected surveys were performed at your facility with a Ludlum Model 61 air proportional detector. 0.1e certaminated spot on the floor was identified and decontaminated with tape. The tape was treated as radioactive waste and disposed. No additional areas of cuntamination were identified nor were any radiation levels measured that exceeded the background radiation levels.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice", Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Public Document Room.
